Africolor Festival: A Vibrant Celebration of African Music

Resonating with Joy and Unity

Africolor, a renowned music festival celebrating its 30th anniversary, has unveiled a visually striking and energetic design that captures the essence of its rich heritage and contemporary Afro-beat electronic scene. Designed by the talented Manuela Bonnet, this visual creation aptly titled "Resonate" vibrates with the festival's spirit, echoing the power of music across time and borders.

Manuela Bonnet, the creative mind behind the festival's visual identity, has masterfully crafted a design that will be showcased across various print and digital platforms. From posters and brochures to flyers and social media publications, the "Resonate" design will leave a lasting impression on festival-goers and online audiences alike.

The design process began with sketches on paper, allowing Bonnet to explore different compositions and refine the essential idea. Moving to Adobe Illustrator, Bonnet meticulously cut and duplicated letters to create a vibrant rhythm that pulsates with energy. The final visuals, including the poster, kakemonos, and Instagram posts, were expertly crafted using a combination of Illustrator and Indesign.

The "Resonate" design boasts impressive technical specifications, with the poster measuring 420 x 600 mm, the subway poster at 223 x 61.5 cm, and the flyer opening up to 495 x 345 mm. The festival brochure spans 148 x 210 mm and consists of 54 pages, while the kakemonos stand tall at 80 x 203 cm. The design also extends to the festival's Facebook and Instagram profiles, ensuring a cohesive visual identity across all platforms.

With keywords such as #musicfestival, #africolor, #graphicdesign, #typography, and #visualidentity, the "Resonate" design encapsulates the vibrant and diverse nature of the festival. It serves as a testament to the festival's commitment to showcasing contemporary African music creation and resonating with audiences worldwide.

Manuela Bonnet's design for Africolor was met with critical acclaim, earning the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2021. This accolade recognizes the design's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and ability to enhance the quality of life through art, science, design, and technology. The "Resonate" design truly embodies the festival's mission of making the world a better place through the power of music.

As Africolor celebrates its 30th anniversary, the "Resonate" design stands as a testament to the festival's enduring legacy and its ability to unite people through the universal language of music. With its vibrant colors, joyful rhythm, and powerful message, this design invites audiences to join in the celebration and experience the magic of Africolor.
